The accompanying photo shows my old money belt (lower, in grey) and this new money belt (above, in blue).in terms of size, the new one has it all over the old one. This isn't necessarily better, but in this case I think it is. The old money belt is difficult to arrange: To get both passports in it (I'm a dual citizen) plus travel documents plus cash in two currencies strained its capacity and made it hard to get things in and out.Equally important, the fastening system for the old belt is awkward. To clip it together, the female end must be fished out from inside a fold in the pouch part of the belt. The new money belt avoids this nuisance by having both male and female ends of the belt-proper exposed. Additionally, the belt-proper of the old money belt is thin, so the clip is too, making it hard to fit together, whereas the new belt has a large clip, so is much easier to fasten. The sliding adjustment of the belt of the new one is much superior as well, far easier to use.The new money belt also has a webbed pocket on the inside of the pouch that closes with a velcro strip. This seems as if it will be handy. The materials of the new belt seem strong and, if it makes any difference, I prefer the blue to the grey. The mood of this review is a bit subjunctive because I haven't used the belt in practice. I'll be taking a trip over the coming vacation period and intend to wear it. If my opinions about this money belt should change after a road test, then I'll return to this review and adjust my findings.
