I am reviewing this for my husband. He wanted a "man bag" to take with him to Europe in the spring. I told him he couldn't use my purse for overflow and he tends to carry lots of "stuff" with him. I will update my review after our trip and let you know how it handled the abuse of travel. The outside fo this bag is a study army green canvas. There are lots of zippered pockets. The front flat opens and reveals an ID pocket. Not sure how useful this will be for our trip, but nice to have. There is a large pocket that clips on the front and the side of this also has a full size zippered pocket that opens on one side. Also, the top flap has a zippered pocket. The interior is a large open space. This space is large enough to fit two 20oz water bottles and the zipper still closes. My I used this bag for about fifteen years, when it was made by Eagle Creek in various colors, and then discontinued; they euphemistically refer to that as "redesigned". The Eagle Creek pouch was more than twice as expensive, but better made. This "military model is still the same design and very utilitarian: I can carry my wallet, pens, digital camera, notebook, extra car keys, medicine, etc., inside it. When people ask me, "Why I carry a 'purse'?", I tell then to try to get the contents of the bag in their back pocket. Another benefit is that I have rarely left the bag behind, as I invariably did, when I carried these items in various pockets. The major problem with this model is that the stitching is less than acceptable: I bought the bag five months ago, and the stitching along the edge of the front flap and in between the pen slots has already come apart. If you're good with a needle and thread, you might get it to last longer.the bag seems very sturdy. It is the exact size I was looking for. Since I don't need to wear a jacket in the summer, I needed something to hold my keys, sunglasses, pen, change, cell phone etc.I also like the size because a 7 inch tablet should fit when I purchase it in the next month. The zippers seem sturdy and there was prompt delivery. There are actually 2 large pockets, which are hard to see from the picture. Then there is a front compartment, and a smaller compartment near the buckle to hold change, candy, metrocard etc.the back pocket has pen holders and a place to put business cars etc. for easy access.Due to loss of use of my left arm, I found myself in need of a man bag. This one doesn't look dorky. It is large enough to put a compact system camera in the main compartment, all cards and money in the top zippered compartment, and there is plenty of room for keys, sunglasses, etc. The only reason I gave it four stars is that there is a strange compartment (which is in the back and against your torso, that is useless because of the way the zippered access works. Anything in there would likely fall out. Otherwise, It is of good quality and a very good price. This is a great bag for everyday carry. It's made out of a good quality canvas. I received an olive color bag, not the light brown that is shown in the picture above. My only concern is the quality of the zippers, they don't seem like they will hold up well for everyday carry. If they do break, I will get them replaced with higher quality zippers because I love the size and design of this bag. I would recommend this bag to a friend.I will post a follow up in a few months. The Rothco passport pouch has plenty of carrying space and plenty of pockets to organize your important travel items in. However, on the second day I used the pouch during my travel the strap unraveled and fell from my shoulder. If I were not paying attention I would have lost my passport and all of my money. If you do buy this item look very carefully at the strap and particularly the stitching on the shoulder strap. Any speedy thief could potentially rip this right off your body and you would never know it.I've had none of the issues listed by other reviewers.I use this to carry all the odds and ends of the connected life.PhoneTabletChargersHeadphonesPaperback bookSunglasses in caseNote pad, penCase for Hearing aidsAssorted junk that I really don't need to carry.Basically a Murse**Update, I keep trying other bags but coming back to this one. This bag has just enough pockets and zippered sections to carry just what I need, and nothing more.A larger bag would be full of stuff that was only carried because I had the room.Glad I pulled the trigger and got this. Teasing from some of my male friends BUT this is so handy. Learning where to put things in it, but so far so good. I am sure, once I get used to this murse, I might get one not so military looking.Really handy. Does not look like a murse. Have used it daily since it arrived.I ordered this pouch as a addition to my backpack - When I received the pouch I noticed that it's made of fabric and not the lighter nylon and if gets wet it will become heavy. This pouch is great for everyday carry but not for the woods.
