This has been a great mug. In the other reviews, I read where some complained about it not being metal inside. That's a good thing in my book because for some reason metal interacts with coffee and after a couple hours starts tasting horrible! This mug is a BPA free plastic inside (read the specs people!), which is exactly what I was looking for. The mug is easy to clean (unlike that horrible Contigo mug that I wasted $22 on and ended up throwing away after only a month.I don't know where people get a figure of 6 hours for keeping things hot -- maybe if you lived in Vegas and were outside in the middle of the day in the month of August or something, it might stay hot for six hours. But no, it will keep it hot for about an hour, maybe two depending on conditions. It doesn't tend to keep it as hot for as long as some of the completely metal mugs I've had, but unlike those mugs, it doesn't turn your coffee into an undrinkable horrible mess either. I'd rather have cold coffee that's drinkable than warm coffee that's not. A good iced coffee blend does well!The 16-ounce size is about perfect. I've had 12 and 20 -ounce mugs before and 12 was too small and 20 was too big. 16 is perfect, because with one standard French Press of coffee (which is typically 34 ounces), I can get exactly two mugs worth out of it.My only complaint is that at the top of the handle, there's a slit in the plastic of the handle itself, which I presume is to allow you to hang the mug from hook, but the sides of that slit are rather sharp on your hands and that's the part of the handle I tend to carry it by when walking with it across the parking lot coming into work, for example.
